Gaviscon
Gaviscon is an antacid medication used to treat heartburn, acid reflux, and symptoms of indigestion. It contains sodium alginate combined with sodium/calcium bicarbonate, which forms a protective raft floating on top of the stomach contents, physically preventing acid from rising into the esophagus and rapidly soothing irritation. Available as an oral suspension or chewable tablets, it is best taken after meals and at bedtime.
