Augmentin tablets is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, urinary tract, and skin. It contains amoxicillin (a penicillin antibiotic) combined with clavulanic acid, which prevents bacteria from inactivating the amoxicillin. Dosage and strength (such as 625 mg or 1 g) are determined by the severity of the infection under medical supervision. It is best taken at the start of a meal to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.
